8th Jan 2010 - Happy New Year
Firstly, we wish a Happy New Year to all our customers, old and new. 2010 will prove to be our biggest year yet - we have many more changes for the site planned for phase 3 of our site redesign - this is where things get really interesting and we start to add really cool features that really starts to build a community around Console Passion. Work on them has already started and you will start to noptice more changes in the next few weeks and months.
We also have masses of stock to add early this year - you probably noticed we didn't add much stock in November and December - that's because we were so busy with Christmas orders! This didn't stop us buying though - we bought some pretty amazing collections over the yuletide period! We have some new *big* sections on their way, and we are starting to add smaller quirky sections too for all the niche collectors out there.
As usual, as we make these changes we are looking for feedback and criticisms. We take everything on board and if we like your ideas we send out gift vouchers as a thank you!
28th Sep 2009 - Members Pages Live!!
The members area is now fully live. Inside the members only area we have our first free to enter competition for the chance to win a Switchless Sega Megadrive console and games. Also, we have the latest updates page which lists all the very latest updates to the site, an exclusive members news page which has all the very latest news only for members, polls on changes to the website and a suggestions page with a chance to win Console Passion vouchers!
16th Jul 2009 - Competition coming..
Wow, what an amazing few weeks we have had! Word of the new site must be getting around as our hits are going through the roof! Our sales are over double what they were this time last year - who says there is a recession - it doesn't seem to be hitting you retro fans! Items are literally selling the day they come in, no doubt a result of our unique wishlist feature. And our stock is increasing every day - we bought another internet retailers stock last week, and a huge collection is due to be collected very soon, to boost our already impressive stock list.
A number of visitors have recently asked us if we are ever going to sell computer games - Commodore, Sinclair and Amstrad and the likes. At the moment we are going to stick with Consoles as they are quicker and easier to test, and our storage facility is crammed to the gills. In the future though this may change as we are looking into expanding our premises - it all depends on the demand though! We will be conducting several Polls in the near future. and asking website members & newsletter subscribers what their opinions are on this and other changes we may be making to the site.
Keep an eye out for another of our new upcoming features - the retro competition. Every few months we will be running some great competitions with great prizes. Our first competition will be to win a Megadrive and a stack of games - keep checking the site for details or sign up and become a member!
3rd Jul 2009 - More site updates...
Well, the new website has been fully up and running for two months now, and the response has been amazing! We had hundreds of people signing up for membership while we were away on our honeymoon, and floods of emails congratulating us on the new website look. Our orders are already through the roof, and we’re frantically restocking all major platforms and popular games on a daily basis to keep up with the demand! If you haven’t signed up yet, please do – it’s free and once you’re signed up you can enjoy additional benefits such as regular newsletters, wish lists and back orders, plus exclusive member only offers in the future.
We have been busy bug fixing, and hopefully any teething problems from phase one are now sorted. Improvements are being made to the site all the time – you may notice the new advanced search facility has gone live, and more features are to come in the near future. Phase 2 of the website development is now underway with even more cool things to be added to the site, along with some new console sections, and hundreds of new stock items.
We are looking for contributors to the website too so we can improve on our collect and play section. Reviews, letters, pictures, ideas – anything you can think of, as long as it is retro we’re looking for it. We’ll be offering prizes too for the best contributions every month.
As our website continues to grow, so does our reputation –we were recently in FHM magazines ‘Top 100 places to shop online’ feature! We have had visits and orders from a few celebrities recently, TV stations ordering stock and Nationwide recognition for the Urbis exhibition which we supplied all the retro equipment for – it’s been a busy few weeks!
15th Apr 2009 - First new update!
Our first update on the new website... Quite a good one it is too - you can see exactly what we have in our recent stock updates pages. There's some nice Nintendo 64 Games that we've never had in stock before, along with some lovely Sega Dreamcast Imports, Sega Megadrive Imports and Super Famicom Games as well as a few other surprises, including a new section for Sega Game Gear Imports! We're still ironing out a few little bugs on the new site too - if you spot any contact us - we'll really appreciate your help, and you never know, we may just fling a few freebies your way if you spot anything we haven't.
